<p>I&#8217;ve recently been playing with <a href="http://www.gimp.org/">GIMP</a>, the shareware (free) photo editing software that legally does what Photoshop does. I&#8217;ve also been thinking about writing some tutorials (which is one of the reasons I&#8217;m doing this 15 posts in 15 days thing &#8211; no sleep thing). Note there are some <a href="http://www.gimp.org/tutorials/">really good tutorials here</a>. But here is what I did just messing around with it (note click on the photos to see them at nearly full size)&#8230;.</p>
<ol>
<li>I started with kind of a cool picture (upper left corner is the original)</li>
<li>I darkened all the features in the pirouette (silhouette &#8211; inside joke) (upper right)</li>
<li>I changed the color of the sky (Lower left)</li>
<li>I added a gradient boarder that was semi translucent (Lower Right and top of post)</li>
</ol>
<p>
<div style="margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center;"><a href="http://thelohns.com/uploaded_images/AllImagesCombo-770177.jpg"><img src="http://thelohns.com/uploaded_images/AllImagesCombo-770174.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a> </div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://picasa.google.com/blogger/" target="ext"><img src="http://photos1.blogger.com/pbp.gif" alt="Posted by Picasa" style="border: 0px none ; padding: 0px; background: transparent none repeat scroll 0% 50%; -moz-background-clip: -moz-initial; -moz-background-origin: -moz-initial; -moz-background-inline-policy: -moz-initial;" align="middle" border="0" /></a></p>
<div style="text-align: left;">Finally, there is one thing in the picture final picture that I editied for the fun of it &#8211; can you find it?</p>
<p>Note &#8211; I just previewed it and at this resolution, it&#8217;s probably too small to notice &#8211; but if <a href="http://www.bodyglove.com/">body glove</a> wants to use this for a comerical and pay me lots of money, I&#8217;ll take it.</div>
