POTD_18 Milk on the Trike

Jake was enjoying some milk on his trike.

How: Similar to Abbie Biking (obviously), except this time I used Tv Mode, set it to 1/13 sec, and let the camera figure out the rest.

POTD – #17 – On the Dock

POTD_17 OnTheDock

Jake got a lesson about the lake today.  Erika is teaching lots.

How: Bright, so f11, with 1/640 exposure at ISO 400 (which is the camera’s sweet spot with this lens)

POTD – #16 – Abbie Biking

POTD_16 Abbie biking

Abbie is learning to ride her bike.

How: For the panning effect, I went with 1/20th sec, I tried 1/30th, but for the bike speed, I wanted a longer exposure.  I was using my 50 mm lens.

POTD – #15 – Jake in black and white

POTD_15 Jake BandW

Jake and I had a guys night at home, so I took a few photos of him.  I thought this one was pretty cool in black and white.

How:  Used the 50mm lens and set it for f2.8 and ISO 200 because it was still pretty bright.  The fact that the background is blurry and doesn’t connect with Jake is what I think makes it.  There were others that had grass or the chair that you could see, but they didn’t look nearly as good.

Halfway through the month!

POTD – #14 – Twins vs Red Sox

POTD_14 Twins Game

I went to the Twins game today – regular season game #2 at Target field.  Here’s Adrian Beltre hitting a single in the 7th.  Kevin Youklis is going to second.  Nick Punto is laid out diving at third and the ump, Jeff Nelson, who I believe is the brother of Gary Nelson, is signalling fair.  J.J. Hardy is heading out for the cut off.  O-Dog is covering 2.  Crane is going in to backup Mauer.  Also our real seats where in row 5 of section 103, which is above the Ford sign on the 1st base line.  Awesome seats.  To see the full details of this one, I recommend - view on black – which is available for all the POTDs.

How: Auto – not thinking too much camera stuff at this point – had I known where are seats were, I would have brought my zoom lens – next time.
